What do we do?
As a chapter, we live by our motto, "each needs the help of the other." Each semester, we put on Lunch and Learn, a presentation for the pharmacy school about newly approved medications. We also volunteer for a Sienna Frances House, the Salvation Army, Ronald McDonald House charities, and the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. We also help with Survivors Helping And Reaching Equilibrium (SHARE) project. The SHARE project was started by one of Creighton's faculty who survived cancer. The project collects donated items and makes care packages for people receiving chemotherapy treatment. In addition, every year, we make an educational display with information about an important health topic. The past couple of years we made a poster with information about cancer prevention to present at Relay for Life.
In addition to our community and professional service, we also have fun. Here are some of the social events we had in the past:
- Salsa Dancing
- Making chocolate covered strawberries
- Bowling
- Going to Drake in Des Moines for their Halloween party
- Ice cream sundaes and movie night
- End of the year BBQ
- Haunted hayrack ride
- Paintball
- Dodgeball
- Christmas party
- Photo scavenger hunt
